
Yuan GUO (Kunstname: Ziyuan Guo) was born and raised in China. She began playing the piano and accordion at the age of four and won the 1st prize of regional piano competition at the age of six.
She studied at the China Conservatory and at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. After that she obtained her master's degree in major composition and minor piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main under Prof. Gerhard Müller-Hornbach with the final grade 1.0. In addition, she collaborated with various Ensembles and orchestras, e.g. “Le Balcon (Paris)”, “Zafraan Ensemble (Berlin)” and “orchestra FILMharmonie Frankfurt”. Her composition "Luyun" (Melody of Shandong) for Wind Instruments of “Tonart Orchester Heidelberg” premiered at the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute in Heidelberg. She dedicated her current compositions to various genres from chamber music to orchestra music.
Influenced by her mother, who is a piano teacher, Ziyuan GUO has a long experience in teaching. From 2003 to 2008 she worked as a piano instructor at music school in Beijing, and from 2009 onwards she teaches piano and music theory in Germany. Her students won the first prize in piano competitions in both China and Germany.
